Spring has finally sprung and the inshore waters are warming up. Redfish and black drum are biting, but it shouldn’t be too long before the flounder bite starts up also. I still have some trips available next week to Go Fish.
I wish everyone a blessed Easter weekend.

If you go to Myrtle Beach, Go fish on the Go Fish with Captain Chris, top notch Captain. He’s a great guy.

Tropical Storm Ophelia has come and gone without any damage to our area thank goodness, and it looks like some beautiful fall weather is in store for us in the coming days. There are large schools of mullet at the inlet that the redfish, bluefish, flounder and trout are feeding on. Contact me if you would like to get in on the action and Go Fish.

I put my loyal repeat customers, Kevin and Zach on some nice Black Drum one day last week. The Bald Eagles were cheering us on with their loud chirps from the dead pine tree way above our heads. The Big Reds are here!! Unfortunately hurricane Ian has also showed up on our coast today; thankfully he is much weaker than when he came ashore in Florida. Please pray for everyone affected by the hurricane in Florida and the Carolinas, and help out in any way if you can. I still have some slots available in October, the big reds should stick around until the end of October or first week of November. The flounder are still biting in the marshes and one or two trout are starting to show up.
Time to Go Fish….in a couple of days, not today. Stay safe.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! There is much to be grateful for, l hope that you all have a great holiday!!

Earlier this month I was contacted by Lcpl Murphy from the North Myrtle Beach Police Department and given the opportunity to help sponsor their inaugural Youth Fishing Day which turned out to be a Fun day of fishing for many kids in our area. I hope that this event will continue to grow in the future; which will in turn have a positive impact on our city’s youth. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of such a worthwhile event.
We had fun catching a number of “Bull Reds” this past week, hopefully they will stay around a little while longer. The weather this October has been fantastic and I hope that it will remain that way through November and December. Beautiful weather to Go Fish.

During the past week there has been an increase in schools of baitfish in the areas that we fish, resulting in more action from Flounder, Redfish and Speckled Trout; we are also getting a few Black Drum with shrimp. It seems like we may be past the triple digit heat indexes which will result in cooler water temperatures and better fishing. Contact me to reserve your next trip to Go Fish.

Great that you are able to get back out on the water. Nick and I can't wait until we can come down and fish with you again.

The average daily water temperature in our area is in the high 50’s F with a few Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder biting here and there. I expect the bite to get a whole lot better when the water temperature gets into the upper 60’s F as it usually does in April. That being said, we as a nation are currently facing the Covid-19 threat and l encourage everyone to follow the guidelines put in place by our State and Federal authorities as it relates to travel. I am still currently offering inshore charters to anyone that would like to Go Fish, but urge you to consider your health status as it relates to the “at risk” categories defined by the CDC before you travel to our area.

The fishing in September and first week of October has been pretty good, the big "Bull" Redfish that usually show up this time of year at the Little River Inlet are here along with Black Drum in the waterway and marshes. There are a few Flounder and Trout around, but North Carolina has closed their Flounder fishery; cutting our Flounder fishing grounds in half. The weather has finally started to cool off, and hopefully will trigger an even better bite, especially with the Speckled Trout. I've still got some slots available in October to target the "Bull" Redfish before they finish their spawn and head back out to the deep ocean usually by the middle of November.

Great video guys!!!

Hurricane Dorian passed close to North Myrtle Beach yesterday causing some minor damage to homes and cars; also knocking down some trees and power lines. The damage was caused primarily by a few small tornadoes that were spun up from the outer bands as the storm approached. Thankfully there were no reported injuries that I know of. I thank God that me, my family, our home, vehicles and boat were left unscathed by the storm. Please pray for the Bahamian people that lost everything including their family and friends.
Go Fish Inshore Charters will be open for business as usual starting on Monday, 9/9/19. We were catching black drum, redfish, flounder, and a few sharks before Dorian passed our way. I hope that the fishing will get even better next week as it did after Hurricane Matthew which came by here almost 3 years ago along a similar track; pushing huge schools of bait into the surf along the beaches and up into the marshes and waterway.

It's been a while since my last update. The month of July is always a very busy time for me and physically demanding especially after spending 10 to 12 hours outdoors in the heat and humidity on a daily basis; however there is no other profession that I would prefer to being a North Myrtle Beach Fishing Guide....I love my job. That being said we had a month of mostly good fishing days, and some being great with lots of smiling faces. We have been experiencing some "King Tides" in the past week which have been pushing nice, clear blue ocean water way up into the tidal creeks and marshes; hopefully resulting in more bait and predator fish coming into the inshore areas. Large schools of finger mullet have moved into the inshore waters during the past week. The predator species that feed on the mullet seem to have followed them into the inlet also, resulting in a better bite than earlier in June. I am fully booked for the first week of July, but have some open dates during the remainder of July. Happy Easter captain Chris..from Pennsylvania!!

Same to you captain Chris.

April fishing is definitely improving; we had a few slow, cold windy days, but on the warmer days we have been doing quite well. Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to take some repeat customers fishing; Mark Turner and his family left the dock with me knowing full well that the forecast called for a 30-40% chance of rain. Well the forecast was 60-70% wrong, we got poured on! However, although I gave them the opportunity to come in and cut the trip short, Mark and his family declined my offer because they were having too much fun catching fish in the rain. We all had a blast! If you would like to enjoy a fun fishing trip while you're in North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach this week, please contact me asap as I only have a few slots left towards the end of the week. Happy Fishing!!

Well the weather roller-coaster rolls on and so does the fish bite. The colder days early last week knocked the Inshore water temperature below 60F again and slowed the bite down drastically. The warmer temperatures towards the end of the week brought the Inshore water temperature back up to just above 60F again and the bite was pretty good this weekend. It looks like we'll have the same cycle this week. I've still got a couple of slots open towards the end of the week to Go Fish.
