I have been living in Cherry Grove for the past 15 years and fishing in this area since then. The area that I take my North Myrtle Beach Fishing Charters encompasses about 50 square miles of marsh grass, barrier islands and small channels and creeks lined with oyster shell banks. The area stretches from North Myrtle Beach, northwards along the Intracoastal Waterway, through Little River, SC up to Sunset Beach, NC, and out to the Little River Inlet.

There is much natural beauty to be seen in addition to occasional sightings local wildlife; including Deer, Wild Goats, Otters, Foxes, Alligators and Bald Eagles to name a few.

There are also a few places of historical significance within the area that we will be fishing; the most prominent being The Little River Fishing Village which has been in existence since the 1700's, Little River hosted the famous and the infamous. As an out-of-the-way, protected harbor, pirates, smugglers, blockade-runners, and bootleggers are said to have found refuge here. George Washington also dined here while traveling the Kings Highway on his Southern Tour in 1791.  There is also Fort Randall which was a confederate battery and fort located at the Tillghman Point. Fort Randall was built to protect The Little River Fishing Village from Union forces during the civil war as Little River was a safe haven used by blockade runners to bring much needed supplies to Confederate forces in Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC; both of which were blockaded by the Union forces at the time.
